Trouble On Six
This is a story of redemption. In my feeble attempt to fix my parents, my brothers, and anyone else who needs fixin’, I disappeared, losing any sense of who I truly am. I became a control-aholic and my main objective in life was to get you to like me. All my decisions were tainted by these “isms”. The road to recovering my unapologetic, authentic self is paved with lunacy, laughter, love and light. One day at a time.

I so enjoyed this solo show! I didn’t want it to end. It is in a sense about a boy who is ‘raised by wolves’ in the crazy 70’s and 80’s in America. From free love to disco, to cocaine and everything in between, the young man somehow manages to raise himself- stays on the straight and narrow- and makes it through. A true success story that, even though goes to some dark places- but ultimately is a tale of triumph over tragedy. I’m going back!
Great show! Thoroughly enjoyed this and have recommended to friends! Its a great odyssey of Larry’s life which is funny and very touching. I also found it philosophical at times and it made me think about my own life and who I really am. The staging is also brilliant and the whole well through as an audience member I felt like I was part of the show. Go see this!
Trouble on Six is a brilliant solo show: funny, moving, light and intense at the same time. Larry Jay Tish is an amazing actor, I’m glad he’s sharing with us audience his very inspiring life story. Thanks!
I laughed, I cried, I learned. This show somehow manages to turn the heartbreaking to hilarious, and silliness to surprising poignancy. As another person with a colorful family and adventures in boundaries, this show gave me a language for things I had yet been unable to express. I wanted it to be three hours long, but I’m very happy with the 50 minutes we get. See it!
Trouble on Six is a humorous, brilliantly-acted show that tells the story of one man’s journey through an unstable, baffling, and unique life. Using a trunk filled with a few props, Larry assumes a range of roles, from his grandmother to a parade of his mother’s lovers, to tell this powerful story. He’s a physical actor with great kinetic energy and the script and the use of music and sound effects are nicely interwoven into his story. You’ll leave the theater having laughed hard and with some insights how to live your own life offered in the most subtle way. Go see this show!
Fluid and well told. Paced to perfection and such warmth. Larry creates a beautifully intimate and authentic space between himself and the audience, the story flitting between comedy and truth, often both. Pithy, dark and a truly lovely time to share with this seasoned performer.
A great show that’s funny, dark, and inspiring all at once. Larry makes full use of the stage, and with minimal set needed the story really becomes the focus. It’s so easy to see parallels in your own life in his story, and take something meaningful away.
Trouble on Six is a heartfelt true story about love and family disfunctionality . Poignantly told with humour tenderness irony and need. A wonderful portrayal that will keep you transfixed and leaving with mixed emotions. A must see.
Such a great show! A truly uplifting story that takes you through Larry’s amazing roller coaster life. Full of pearls of wisdom, you will come out of this full of joy. A must-watch!!
This was an excellent show! Larry tells his incredible life story over this hour with such heart and care that its impossible to not to be charmed. Atmospheric and at points shocking, this play has a beautiful overall message that is worth hearing. Go see it!
Larry is a force of nature! He is the quintessential Brooklyn guy – loud, edgy, street-smart and entertaining. During his tour de force one person show Trouble on Six – Larry blew me away with stories that were funny, heartbreaking and just plain nuts. Do yourself a favor and see Trouble on Six while you can. Larry is an absolute original and so is the show.
